Waiheke Reserve is a new return ferry service which gives visitors to Waiheke Island the opportunity to pre-book a date and departure time in advance of travel to and from Waiheke Island.
Once booked, seats are secured. Boarding opens for the Waiheke Reserve up to 20mins ahead of departure.
Waiheke Reserve is the perfect choice for those with fixed travel schedules, return sailings can be booked on the same day, or up to three weeks from the date of departure.
This new service will complement existing Waiheke Walk-up sailings and will help respond to increased visitor demand for ferry services over the peak summer period.
Waiheke Reserve has been welcomed by our partners including travel and cruise ship operators. We believe it will result in significant gains for the Waiheke Island and Auckland economies and communities, including reducing congestion for Waiheke Island residents on the Waiheke Walk-up service, and further bolster Auckland and Waiheke Island’s credentials as world-class tourism destinations.

Waiheke Reserve is a new return ferry service which gives visitors to Waiheke Island the ability to pre-book in advance.
Separate from the Waiheke Walk-up service, Waiheke Reserve will have a select set of sailing dates and times that can be booked in advance which will secure a seat on a chosen sailing.
The walk-up service is a demand based service where a ticket is valid for any sailing up to one year from date of purchase.
A key difference between the two sailings is the ability to pre-book and secure your seat on a selected Waiheke Reserve sailing.
The two services depart from separate piers in the Downtown Ferry Terminal and from Matiatia Ferry Terminal.
The Waiheke Walk-up ferry is the primary passenger ferry service offering high frequency, regular sailings to Waiheke Island year-round.
A Waiheke Walk-up ferry ticket is valid for any scheduled Waiheke Walk-up sailing, up to a year from purchase date.
The Waiheke Walk-up ferry will depart from piers 11 and 12 at the downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal. If you are coming from Waiheke, Waiheke Walk-up ferry will depart from pier 1 at the Matiatia Ferry Terminal.
In the peak season, Fullers360 operates the Waiheke Walk-up service with a summer timetable that includes additional frequency to meet demand.
During peak times we recommend customers on the walk-up service arrive at least an hour before their preferred sailing.
